I have being busy, paint prep takes a long time, all the little chips and marks that show up take time to mend and rubbing down afterwards. I have the boot lid fitted and the doors. I had a bit of crap land on the sunroof panel , I wet sanded it down and gave it a few coats while I was spraying the wings/ mirrors / spoiler, I ended up sand blasting most of the paint of the mirrors, the primer kept reacting to the paint, oddly enough I have no hassle with the car panels, thank god.
The plan is to fit the panels once painted, paint the remainder of the shell and then give the whole car a final lick to hide any scratches and paint in the screw heads etc. I am getting the paint pretty flat but most likely need a run of a buffer and some G3 to get inclusions out of the paint maybe the odd run, I will see how it goes.
She is starting to take shape.
2 piece sun roof seal ordered of the bmw classic web site, nearly €50 cheaper than the main dealer and free shipping.
I have some more painting complete,One side of the car and roof, its coming on well. I still plan on wet sanding the paint down to repair any marks and one or two final coat. I cleaned off the back of the bonnet, the foam on the back was kinda shagged, I dont mind listing to the TB’s sucking some air.
